How it started
In 2005 our office was in an inner-city suburb with no commercial parking and poor public transport. Staff had to drive, and the only option was metered street parking, so someone got a parking ticket most weeks.
Plenty of nearby homes had driveways sitting empty during the day. A letterbox drop led to some good arrangements for everyone, and that letterbox drop became this website.
What we do
Home owners, apartment owners, businesses and real estate agents list spare car spaces for rent or for sale. Drivers search by suburb or postcode, then contact the owner directly to arrange the details.
- Free for drivers. Searching, asking questions and requesting a space costs nothing.
- One small fee for owners. A flat listing fee, with no commission and no monthly charges.
- Australia-wide. Spaces in capital city CBDs, inner suburbs and regional centres.
- Direct contact. We don’t sit in the middle of your arrangement. The owner and the driver agree the price, bond and start date between them.
Why a flat fee?
A car space is about the lowest-maintenance property there is. Once you’ve found the right person, there’s nothing for us to do each month that would justify taking a cut, so we don’t.
