How we work out the numbers
- We use monthly rental listings in each suburb and postcode, first listed or relisted in the last 3 years. Prices under $60 or over $2,000 a month are left out as typing mistakes.
- Typical price is the median: half of spaces ask less, half ask more. Most spaces is the middle half of prices. We don’t show averages, because one very expensive space would pull them up.
- We need at least 3 recent listings to show a typical price. With fewer, we show the actual prices and nearby suburbs instead.
- Figures are recalculated every day.
