COUNCILLORS awarded a tender last night to install paid parking on The Hill. Only two councillors voted against meters for the area bounded by Watt, Ordnance, and Wolfe streets and Reserve Road. The 36 pay-and-display ticket machines will cost the council $276,804 to install. A total of 159 spaces will be retained as free and unrestricted parking. Most of the area will become one- and two-hour zones.
