PORT Stephens Council will crackdown on heavy vehicle drivers who park illegally in built-up areas.
Rangers will target vehicles parked for longer than one hour and those parked on footpaths.
"Illegal parking practices are on the increase in Port Stephens and they have placed the health and safety of pedestrians and motorists at risk," the council's environmental health and regulation co-ordinator Paul Minett said.
