Parking permits mix-up Date: 09/01/2008 Publication: Newcastle Herald
INNER-city Newcastle residents were left scratching their heads after learning their council-issued parking permits were apparently going to someone else this year.
Newcastle City Council sent about 900 letters recently to addresses in The Hill, Cooks Hill and Newcastle East to renew and pay for the permits.
The letters were addressed to people who did not live at the addresses.
A council spokeswoman said yesterday that an administrative error had resulted in the letters having the wrong surname.
