Hospital's extra parking plan Author: Jason Gordon Date: 31/05/2006 Publication: Newcastle Herald
A NEW 78-space car park will be built alongside the old Rankin Park Hospital at New Lambton Heights under plans lodged with Newcastle City Council.
The single-level car park, proposed by Hunter New England Health (HNEH), would be built between the original hospital building (now administration centre) and Byrne House.
In its application, HNEH said the car park would add 75 general parking spaces and three disabled parking spaces to the 2122 spaces available on the John Hunter Hospital campus.
Four mature trees would be cleared to make way for the new car park, according to an arborist's report submitted with the application.
If approved, construction time is estimated at 12 weeks.
